Full Project Design and Construction Support
When a project has an ambitious goal we work closely with the team from day one to integrate sustainability into the design. We provide visioning, guidelines, energy and daylight modeling, and consultation. We steward the vision and ensure stays on track through the whole design process.
Passive House Design
Joshua Vanwyck is a certified Passive House Designer. He can support any project from residential, schools, to apartment buildings in meeting the highly ambitious Passive House or EnerPHit standard. Project experience includes small single family homes, student residences and multifamily apartment building retrofits.
Feasibility Studies
Many projects have an ambition for sustainability, but haven’t quantified what is possible. We work with the team to produce a feasibility study. This can include concrete energy targets, potential technologies, guidelines and specifications. Bringing experience from around the world allows us to be creative and concrete. We share examples and our expertise from Europe push the cutting edge here in North America.
Early Project Visioning
Often a client has an interest in sustainability and wants to figure out what that might look like in their building. JMV Consulting offers 1 – 2 day workshops to do goal setting, identify potential for the project and create an initial sustainability strategy. This sets the project up for success.
Passive House site support
Building to the Passive House standard requires great attention to detail on site. JMV Consulting works with the design team and construction team to ensure the team is set up for success. We will also provide site reviews, on site training, testing and mock up support.
